DAN LOUGHNAN
Singer/Songwriter Dan Loughnan has been writing and performing his own music since 1990. In that time, he has toured extensively as a soloist around New Zealand, Australia and the U.S., as well as, at various times, taking on bass and vocal duties for New Zealand bands The Unusuals, Sleepers Union, Pluto and most recently as a fully fledged member of Gramsci. An accomplished guitar player, Dan’s own music stands out by way of its powerful melodic sense and strong lyrical leaning, with his voice acting as an instrument in its own right. Live, Dan’s sets showcase the diversity, depth and constant evolution of his writing, combined with a immediacy of sound reminiscent of some of the great New Zealand and U.S. songwriters. Dan has recorded both as a soloist (1993's debut EP
Bathroom Blues, 1997's full length SkeTiTCH), and with his brother Nigel
in duo “Look Out Cow” on 1995's This Trip, and is currently
demoing material for a new solo album, as well as working on material
for a new Gramsci album due in 2006, and contributing electric guitar
to a solo project by Pluto’s Matthias Jordan.

ROGER GREENAWAY Roger Greenaway is one of the most original and timeless musicians currently writing and performing in New Zealand. His blend of rock and pop sensibilities have created some of the most beautiful and poignant songs to be performed in the country’s clubs and venues. Originally hailing from Taupo and now residing in Auckland’s Western suburbs, Roger and his band have taken the energy and rawness of their live shows and replicated that live passion in-studio to produce their stunning debut album, ‘Wayt’. Under the guidance of producers Justin Harwood (The Chills/Luna) and Rikki Morris ‘Wayt’ has revealed itself as one of the most accomplished local debuts to be released in 2004. This album flows from driving rockier moments to subtle and sublime emotions showcasing the full spectrum of this talented Kiwi artist. Roger has shied away from the public until now preferring to let his performance and music speak for him, but with his debut record now in stores and his first national tour under his belt it is the perfect time for Roger to come out to his audience. ‘Wayt’ is released through his own Sunshine Productions label and is distributed in NZ by Global Routes music. The debut video for Roger Greenaway is for his lead single ‘Wise’, it is currently on TV screens nationwide, while second single ‘Fire on the side’ is on alternative radio around the country. |
